FAQs

What is the On-line Learning Library?

The On-Line Learning Library is a service provided by the Institute for Payroll Professionals, in conjunction with Echelon Learning Ltd. It is an online knowledge and learning resource that is designed to support you in carrying out your day-to-day job and to facilitate your ongoing professional and personal development.

The On-line Learning Library acts as both a job support tool and a precise learning resource. It provides a comprehensive store of information, bite-sized learning material and professional development solutions designed to help you refine the skills you need for today and to develop your competencies for the future.

What is in the On-line Learning Library?

There are three types on learning solution:

Action Lists: business and management solutions providing an easy-to-adopt set of steps to follow in implementing an action plan.

Self-development Solutions: bite-sized, self-contained chunks of learning for personal development purposes.

Digests: easy-to-absorb abstracts of well-known management books and introductions to a range of management philosophies.

Here's the index of solution topics available. Click on any of the options to see the range of content available.

There is always a trial solution available free of charge on the home page.

If there are any specific subjects you’d like but can’t see click here to let us know and we’ll try to get it.

Solutions are specifically designed to be bite-sized nuggets that provide a good insight into the subject, rather than to be a detailed or expert-level training course. Access to more detailed and technical material is referenced in many of the solutions.

How long do solutions take to complete?

The duration of the solutions and their self-assessments typically range from 20 to 60 minutes. This could be extended if you follow any of the links to the referenced documents and websites for further information. The process is flexible and solutions do not have to be completed in one ‘sitting’.

Are the solutions studied online?

They can be, or they can be printed off and studied anywhere and at any time you find convenient. The self-assessments at the end of each module must be completed online.

When can The On-line Learning Library be accessed?

24/7. A 56K web connection is all that is required.

Do the solutions count towards CPD?

Yes. The CPD hours are identified in each module.

How do I access the solutions?

The licence size can be fitted to the exact number required and the price calculated by adding additional users at the per capita price of the previous price band. For example, a licence for 12 users would be priced as follows: £1,500 for a 10-user licence and 2 users at £1,500/10 = £150. This makes £1,800 in total, plus VAT.
