Purpose

This activity will use a technique known as Social Network Mapping (SNM) to reveal the flow of information inside your organization.

When you have completed this activity you should be able to:

  • use SNM to draw a map identifying the information flow within your organization

  • identify people who facilitate and hinder the flow of information

  • suggest ways of improving the information flow - and hence the power structure - within your organization
