
Purpose and benefitsMihaly Csikszentmihalyi is a professor at the School of Management, Claremont Graduate University, California, where he serves as director of the Quality of Life Research Center. Formerly professor and chairman of the Department of Psychology at the University of Chicago, his research interests include the study of creativity, the evolution of social and cultural systems, and the study of intrinsically rewarding behaviour in work and play settings. He is the author of numerous articles and several influential books, including "Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience" (HarperCollins, 1991), "The Evolving Self" (HarperCollins, 1993, reprint 1994), "Finding Flow" (Basic Books, 1998), "Good Work" (with Howard Gardner and William Damon, Basic Books, 2001), and "Good Business" (forthcoming in 2003).. |
