Theory of Economic Development by
            Joseph Schumpeter, Bloomsbury

Purpose and benefits

One of Schumpeter’s claims to fame—many have rated him one of the greatest economists of the 20th century— is that he was among the first to set out a clear concept of entrepreneurship and its function within an economy. The key factor is innovation. Entrepreneurs innovate. Innovations create dynamism. Schumpeter’s work was for a long time overshadowed by that of Keynes, but increased interest in innovation since the 1980s has led to a renaissance of Schumpeterian economics and a renewal of interest in this book in particular.
