Purpose and benefitsGood communication is vital where teams are concerned. In fact, everything depends on it: monitoring progress, receiving early warning of problems, promoting co-operation, encouraging team involvement—you name it, good communication is central to it. How often have you heard the phrases “due to a lack of communication”, “a breakdown in communication”, or something similar? Communication is central to the way humans work: and because it comes naturally to us, we don’t spend enough time thinking about how to do it properly. The purpose of this actionlist is to offer some guidance on how to communicate effectively within a project environment, and to flag up some of the areas in which communication can go wrong. |
