This module examines interviews and questionnaires. By completing this module you will be able to:

  • identify the main characteristics of interviews

  • describe the four main types of interview

  • use interviews to gather identification of needs information

  • construct and apply effective questionnaires.

Choosing whether the significance of breadth of response is more important than depth of response in gathering data determines the qualitative or quantitative approaches you can use in carrying out a TNA. The two forms of gathering data are not mutually exclusive.
