Purpose and benefits

Fayol created one of the first systems of management that put management at the centre of the organisation. His system divides a company’s activities into six groups, in which managerial activities are distinct from the other five. The book provides a systematic analysis of the process of management, in which he anticipated most of the more recent analyses of modern business practice. His brief résumé of what constitutes management has largely held sway throughout the 20th century.
