Purpose and benefitsE-mail is now the established medium for routine business communications; but it also has a number of important specialist tasks that can be used to improve productivity and understanding, both within and outside a company. E-mail can be used in two apparently conflicting ways. It’s an ideal way to broadcast information to a large group of people quickly and cost-effectively, but can also be used to send personalised information to individuals or small sections within a larger group. Because it is simple and widely used, it can speed up a number of important business processes. For example, you can set up automated facilities to deal with (or send out) requests for information, service queries, or other routine requests. E-mail is also ideal for managing the high volume of regular communications for particular groups of employees such as sales representatives or members of a project team. |
