Purpose and benefits

Richard Pascale first came to the attention of a large audience through the Seven S framework, one of the most renowned and debated management tools of the 1980s.

He was also, along with his co-author Anthony Athos, among the first researchers to provide original insights into Japanese approaches to business and management.

Much of his later work has examined what businesses have to do to survive in a turbulent climate. He identified corporate ‘agility’ as a main reason for the success of Japanese corporations operating in the US market and has developed similar concepts further in an effort to show how modern companies should go about managing change. Unless they develop the ability to learn, adapt, and involve their whole workforce, many companies, he believes, will not survive.
